Working in tandem with the other "STEM" fields, science and math, the Wilson technology education department is one of the most successful in the state. Boasting a state of the art lab and a successful TSA chapter entering its seventh year, the department allows students access to opportunities which are simply not available at other schools. Thanks to these virtues, the technology education has experienced a great deal of growth in recent years, adding a fifth teacher to combat swelling classes. This increase in technology focused students has coincided with the introduction of the STEM academy, a science, technology, engineering and math track designed to challenge mathematical-minded students through rigorous coursework. Freshmen and sophomores also have access to the I-STEM program which integrates analytical english courses into the STEM curriculum.
